Cornerstone Christian Academy celebrated 10 years in McKinney this past weekend. CCA is no ordinary school and has quite a story. It is a unique model to help parents achieve their goals for their family and children. CCA had a humble birth, died a near horrible death, and now has been resurrected into one of the fastest growing schools in North Texas. CCA recently acquired the historic Hospital and Nurses quarters in downtown McKinney (built in 1920). The school has grown from its humble beginnings with no home and 46 students to more than 300 students on its campus across from Finch Park. A book was just written on the history of the school.

The school celebrated by hosting a community wide event, Family Fest 2014, on April 11 & 12. Local dignitaries and politicians joined with 6 nationally recognized performing artists who flew in just to celebrate and perform. The acts will included 2 comedians, a rapper, a contemporary Christian grammy nominated musician, drama, Chick-Fil-A and Cheesecake Factory. KLTY was onsite with fun and prizes! The entire weekend was a gift back to the community and benefited 3 local ministries: Shiloh Place (single mothers ministry), Cornerstone Ranch (special needs ministry), and Samaritan Inn.
